Preventing the Pain

Bullying has been around for ages in schools, the difference, today's bullies are not what you or even your parents experienced in life. Bullying today doesn't just include the too tall kid who hasn't grown into his or her body, or the kid with a weight problem. Today's bully doesn't discriminate, anyone and everyone is their target.

Your parents and most likely yourself never had grow up in an environment where every thing you say, or do can be recorded and broadcast for the whole world to see. Talk about pressure, one little mistake, one character trait someone deems abnormal, and you become not only the laughing stock of your school but of millions of viewers on social networks around the world.

With the recent increase of bullied students taking their own lives, it is imperative that schools be aware of bullying both in and out of school. Bullying prevention programs are available and definitely incorporated in schools grade k-12. Students need to learn from their first day of school that bullying is a serious problem and it won't be tolerated. Maybe then we can create a bully free environment where children can feel safe.
