Jennah and Her Man

Guest Post by Jennah

So I have a special day that I want to celebrate with my man and I really want to do something different, unique and well sexy of course. We've got a great evening planned out and reservations at a fantastic restaurant to look forward to, but I wanted to add some well pizzazz  to our special day. So I started looking into some overnight arrangements that well offered some more unusual and awesome amenities.

With Executive Fantasy Hotels I can get that awesome experience. They have some great options for my special night that will definitely surprise him. Some of the great things I've selected for our special night are the following private secured parking, I know that sounds simple but it's a big deal for my man to know the wheels are secure when he's not with them and of course privacy.  I've also secured a location with a private pool, yep no having to deal with kids dive bombing and splashing us while we hang out at the pool.  I also love that I can get a theme room. Yeah I know it may sound silly but it's kind of interesting to take it the next level with an Egyptian themed room. Let's just say I will be playing the part of Cleopatra !  Oh one last thing I forgot to mention---the fantasy shower, yep you know those great big showers big enough for both of you...it's definitely going to be a weekend to remember. So the next time you are going to be celebrating a special day, or well just any day with your partner consider renting from Executive Fantasy Hotels. You won't regret it.

Designer Look for Less

I've always been a fan of house design magazines. All of the beautifully decorated rooms make me green with envy. I know that I can't afford every single piece of furniture that is featured in all the designer rooms, but achieving the look is easier than one might think, even on my budget.

The first step is to find a retailer that offers a vast array of designer inspired pieces on a budget that works for many. One great way to achieve the look your looking for is to use a resource for custom design services to build your inspired masterpiece rooms.

In no time at all you can find all those unique and perfect pieces to help create the perfect look you are aiming for. Get a designer look without having to pay the high cost of a personal design team. It is possible to get the look you are aiming for on your own, then step back and enjoy the view knowing you did it yourself, and for less.

Beautiful Meribel

It’s never too soon to start planning that winter ski vacation. One of most spectacular resorts in Europe is Ski Cuisine, a well-established chalet operator in Meribel, Three Valleys.  Within the Three Valleys area there are well over 1200 snow canons which guarantee the avid skier snow throughout the entire season. Snowboards can showcase their skills on tow snowboard parks featuring half pipes, quarter pipes and a variety of jumps.  Skiers also have a variety of mountain restaurants sporting gorgeous views while dining on scrumptious snacks and lunches.

Ski Cuisine has a variety of chalets to suit you or your group’s needs.  Ski Cuisine offers six gorgeous catered chalets and one ski apartment in various sizes. All chalets offer premium services and amenities such as log fireplaces, spectacular views of the valley, luxurious linens, bath towels and toiletries.  Some chalets include features such as hot tubs, Wi-Fi service and docking stations for your electronics.  The resort also has onsite spa services such as massages and beauty treatments for the ultimate day of pampering.

As with any vacation food is an important aspect. The experienced Chiefs work tiredly to create a variety of delicious dishes using the freshest of ingredients. From the hearty breakfasts, to the afternoon tea with delicious home baked goods, your taste buds will be thanking you. Rounding out the day with a day enjoying a four course dinner with a select wine brings the day to a full and satisfying close. A winter vacation at Ski Cuisine is definitely a holiday you will look forward to.

Compare and Save

I recently decided to get a hold on my finances. With my new position that I secured through the use of recruitment agencies I've been able to really hit my debts hard and move to a more financially secure future.
I've paid down my high interest credit card bills, started to set some monthly savings goals and have even looked into more affordable auto insurance policies. The next area I am going to tackle is my energy costs.

I’ve done all the research….I’m a big fan of websites that use video marketing like the work produced by Swoon Video Production in Auckland to find tips on how to  save on my energy costs and have come up with some great tips I've shared with my friends and family. Some of my top tips I’ll share with you right now!  The first thing I did was to switch out my energy guzzling incandescent bulbs for compact fluorescent  just switching one of these bulbs will save me about thirty five dollars in energy cost over the projected ten year life of the bulb. Yes you read that right, imagine not having to buy bulbs for ten years and saving some money to boot!
One of the most important tips I've learned is to compare energy suppliers.  Depending on your area you could save up to a whopping fifteen percent on your energy cost just by comparing suppliers. It’s an easy process, and one great place to start is by using Yourselect Power Company Comparison. This is a great site that helps you to decode your energy bill and find the best supplier for your consumption needs. It’s all about saving, saving, saving. And this is the first step in getting those energy costs down to a reasonable rate.
Another simple energy tip is to close the blinds, especially in the hottest part of the day. It’s a simple thing to do to keep those rooms cooler and not stress the air conditioner in the warmer months. In the cooler months don’t forget to use insulated curtains to keep the warmth in and cold out.
One of the great tips I've learned is to zap the electricity sucking vampire! Unplug those charging adapters and appliances that you don’t use on a daily basis. These standby power cords account for an astonishing five to ten percent of your household electricity use! Yikes talk about wasting money!

The Collector

Thanks to Jeremy for this guest Post
There are lots of hobbies that people partake in during their lifetime. As a kid I collected a vast collection of marbles during my youth, I had so many of them that I actually was able to trade for the coveted steelies and cat’s eyes that helped me to win so many of those backyard marble matches during my youth. Now that I’m an adult the marbles have taken a back seat to another hobby, collecting coins. Although I do have to admit I do have a few of my favorite marbles still displayed in a glass mason jar in my den.

Collecting coins is a great hobby that not only brings me joy, but also is an investment.  I not only derive pleasure from finding the perfect coin to add to my collection, but I’m growing the wealth of my hobby at the same time. There are many advantages of taking up this hobby as coins of all value are available on the market, and it is possible to find coins from just about any time period. Another great thing about collecting coins is that you can get started on a relatively low budget, as your income increases with age, you can continue to invest in coins at an increased increment.

I began my collection by deciding to invest in Great Southern Coins Silver Maples.  Right now silver coin collecting is in popular demand. Precious metals have always been a great investment, and honestly most people think of gold when they think of precious metals, but guess what, silver is also a very desirable metal to invest in.  By buying silver coins and investing in silver you have the opportunity to own a rather under-valued and increasingly scarce asset,  one that could explode in price at any time.

When considering investing in silver coins, some of the coins with great long term potential worth are that of the Canadian Wildlife series. This series started in 2011 with the wolf  coins and are limited to a million coins per issue. They also have issued coins depicting grizzly bears, cougars, and my next purchase the moose.

Teachers Can Learn Too

As an educator I am fully aware of the need for learning newteaching strategies to keep pace with the best practices in research.  Teachers and administration that are proactive in setting aside time and effort to grow professionally are best equipped to educate students effectively.

The subject of math is one area in which strategies for teaching are constantly evolving. Research in this area suggests that student interactive activities help students to build bridges of knowledge that can be connected with prior and new knowledge.

Grouws and Cebulla (2000), state students can improve achievement levels when they are given authentic opportunities to discover new knowledge through practice. By implementing and using programs such as Motivation Math students are able to develop such skills in the classroom. Using resources such as the ones found at mentoringminds.com will enable you to build your professional development skills, and become the best educator possible

Not what I'd hoped for

It's really amazing what time can accomplish. It can mend hearts, clear the mind and put things in perspective. Some say time heals all wounds, I am not sure that is completely true......it may put a band-aide on the weeping wounds but there are still little fractures that on a bad day begin to ooze with emotions and the the next thing you know you are right back to square one. The loneliness, pain, and angst of former trespasses that are felt deep in your gut. Time, yes it has a way of working on the soul, but not always as we hope. It's not what I'd hoped for

These are My Thoughts

These are my thoughts, whether fleeting for a moment or engrained in my brain for years. They are my thoughts whether fractured by self absorbed insecurities or based in absolute truths. Yes these are my thoughts...........and this is me

Walking on Eggshells

I am fed up. Fed up of second guessing, of walking on eggshells for supposed friends, of censoring my thoughts in case it might offend the easily offended, of not being true to myself because they are afraid to lose control over me, and holding back for the sake of others who are faint of heart. You can't please everyone, isn't that how the saying goes?

To have a blog and to have such personal thoughts out there for anyone to see. Why?

I believe in the beauty in life. At its happiest and darkness moments. "It's such a mysterious place, the land of tears." One that we rarely get a glimpse of and if we are lucky enough to, those who can appreciate it will see the power in such raw emotions, unfiltered. I believe that life isn't just captured on a movie screen, after being carefully edited and airbrushed. It is made more real by those courageous enough to bare their souls, to let the world see that 'here, this is it, and there is nothing to be ashamed of.' Nothing to be embarrassed about in sadness, simple joy, quandary, or misdirection.

Mistakes will always be made. They are an essential part of growing. But to hide them and tuck them away like it is something wrong is such a shame. To acknowledge them is so much more empowering, so much more graceful. I think art imitates life.

I think the biggest weakness in man is pride and our greatest strenght is honesty.

The Pick Up Artist

My internet connection took a dumper at the house, so I'm sitting here at Panara Bread getting some work done. Which is all fine except that this coffee I am downing is making me hotter than hell! Anyway, getting to my point.

I'm not real fond of working on my computer in public, it's not that I really worry about invasion of privacy or anything, because the people around me seem to be oblivious to the fact I am sitting with in 5 feet of them. Here in lies my issue. I typically can't stand to listen to other people's conversations in public. Yeah I know what you are thinking mind your own business and you won't have to worry about it. Honestly it's not that simple, I simply can't turn off my hearing. Wish I could but I can't.

Out of all the conversations that I overhear, the most painful are the ones where pickup artists are smooshing some chick they don't know at the table next to me. Honestly I'd rather be sitting in the dentist chair than to listen to their lame attempts.

Seriously these men need to take some lessons on how to meet women because I can see the look of awkwardness and practically hear them subconsciously screaming "get away from me Freak" in their head as they attempt to non verbally give these guys the brush off.

Yeah and you just thought I was mindlessly tapping away at my computer all this time.......when in reality you became blog fodder and didn't even know it.

Man I feel like a Bitch

I really can't stand petty colleagues that feel the need to come to false conclusions about my work only because they are too much of a douche bag to ask me questions they might have, and go running to my boss to accuse me of something I didn't do just because they are to RETARDED to figure out shit themselves, or too much of a fucking pussy to ask me. God I hate you cowardly muther fuckers, oh and by the fucking way, OUR boss says you are the dumb fuck not meeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One Rung at a time

There is a theory that I studied extensively in college, Maslow’s Hierachy of Needs. This theory contends that as an individuals basic needs are met, they seek to move up or satisfy higher needs within the hierarchy. The basic concept is that the higher needs in this hierarchy only come into focus once all the needs that are lower down in the pyramid are mainly or entirely satisfied. Self growth creates an upward movement in the hierarchy, whereas regressive behavior pushes needs further down the hierarchy.

I'd like to believe that people that you connect with help you along all levels of the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, including the ultimate goal of self-actualization. When you simply aren't able to communicate with someone on a fundamental level, be it language or difference of beliefs or opinions or personality, it completely undermines your ability to achieve the last level or two of needs.

Sooner or later, you feel like you're missing something, and you feel empty or inadequate. Be it your faith or that connection you have with people, or that burning desire to find your own place in the world, I think that the people I get along with the best make all levels of the pyramid seem within reach.

Maybe it'd be easier to think of it like ladders going up the pyramid. Each person you meet is a ladder of a different height. The ladders of the people you truly connect with are a lot taller and oftentimes seemingly insurmountable. To get where that ladder will take you seems precarious and risky. But you know it can take you higher up than the shorter ladders you've been climbing.

When you've fallen off of a high ladder, you're wary of climbing up another one whose top you can't see. You settle for small ladders and you get to the top and realize you probably could have gotten that far on your own. And those people serve their purpose, don’t get me wrong, but I really feel that for the most part very few people really “get me”.

As humans, we're bound to slip now and then. Tonight I looked down and was unnerved by how high up the ladder I was going. The journey up the high ladders is seldom easy, otherwise we'd all be doing it all the time. There is a quote that goes "I never said it would be easy, I only said that it would be worth it."

It may take you longer than you had hoped, but every rung higher is a step closer. It may be treacherous at times, and you will feel that you can't go on, but you have to have faith that the solid foundation that you built will hold. That the journey you've embarked upon is worthwhile. Life isn't just about the destination, but the journey. And you should enjoy every ambiguous step and not be in such a rush as to miss out on what is unfolding around you.

The Deep Abyss

I hate how sometimes your brain doesn’t let your mouth in on what’s going on in your head, so it tries to decipher it and ends up getting it all wrong. It boggles my mind how emotions can lead to problems because you can’t seem to understand them at all. And I really hate when people don’t get that you are just trying to let your emotions explain themselves, and that you aren’t trying to let them run amuck. It’s just that your heart and mind can’t begin to fathom the true depth and intensity of the feelings that are hidden away in that secret box. It’s the place where your love for a child dwells, but it is also a dark place, where you store pure hatred, the deep abyss where all those intense feelings live and are stored, because if turned loose they would be in such pure, raw, uncontrollable form that even the sanest of minds wouldn’t be able to manage them. And so it goes another mask is added to the collection…and you’re the only one who knows.

Ponder This

If given the choice, would you rather (a) only abide by the rules and morals of society that you personally agree with, or (b) have the power to slightly adjust the rules and morals that currently exist?...(but these adjustments would ten apply to you and everyone else, all the time)

Come on put on your philosophical thinking caps and tell me what you're thinking

How To NOT Impress Your Child's Teacher At Open House

Every school year all us teachers are required to attend an open house night. This is a night where parents come and listen to a presentation put on by the teachers outlining school and classroom policys. It's also a time for us to meet parents and answer any questions they may have.

It is not....I repeat NOT a night for you to share anything and everything about the dynamics of your family....in short you should be putting your best foot forward with us teachers not seemingly going out of your way to further convice me that you should never have reproduced in the first place!

The following are examples of how to NOT impress me, your child's teacher on Open House Night. All of the example listed here are sadly true and are the primo highlights of my Open House experiences in my last 15 years of teaching, believe me people I could not make this shit up if I wanted to.................

Admitting to me that you not only bought your kid their first joint, but then sat down and smoked it with them under the dillusion that "at least they weren't getting high out on the street" is not really going to give me the impression you are Mother of the Year. Let's see encouraging the use of illeal drugs by a minor isn't really great parenting skills in my book, sorry you immediately are placed on the LOSER Mommy List honey.

Discussing with me your child's bowel movements is not really something I need to know, especially the length, color, frequency of said movements and their aroma is not something I really need to know....and throwing in the fact that you have to have your septic tank pumped every other month because of your kids monster turds really has no bearing on their academic well being. Leave the poopy talk at home please.

Dad's that Point out all the Mom's in the room that they partied with at the bar over the summer then took home and "tapped" is not relevant information that I need to know. Honestly the thought of your naked sweaty beer bellied body doing my students Mom doggie style is not a mental image I want to have come parent teacher confrence time.

Telling me the reason your son always falls asleep in class is because you kept him out till 1 am every night this week, because he plays bass in your band at the local bar, isn't really gonna score points with me.

Telling me what a ho your daughter is and stating that your goal is for her to make it through 8th grade without getting knocked up is really kinda of sad. I mean how am I supposed to respond to that???

Telling me you think the principal is an asshole in front of your child and then following that up with the fact that you outwardly encourage your child to misbehave at school just so it will ruin his day, is not really setting a good example on respecting authority figures. Makes me wonder..

Giving a mini seminar to all the other Sped Moms on how to milk the system and get a monthly social security check from the government because your kid has a learning disability. Then openly discuss how you use it for your "beer and cigarette fund"
Glad to know my tax dollars are going to fund your habits, right on.

And last but not least...Letting your child pass out flyers about a party they are throwing the following night at their house for all the 8th grade students, then telling me I am welome to come but it is BYOB....ok let me just grab my fifth of Jim Bean and I'll be right over. Seriously people I'll be getting my drink on in the privacy of my own home trying to forget the terrible impressions of your parenting skills that you have burned into my memory banks. Now if you'll excuse me I am off to get my drink on and try to forget what a LONG year this is going to be.
